Hell Yes Fest, November 9 – 12

Just a reminder that we are proudly sponsoring Hell Yes Fest, which kicks off tomorrow, Wednesday, November 9 at Republic. Tomorrow night’s show will be a stand-up show with Moshe Kasher headlining and Dane Faucheaux and Chris Trew supporting. I’ve seen the opening acts live before and both are really funny. The rest of the weekend shakes down with shows at The Shadowbox and Cafe Istanbul with performances by tons of improv groups. Check the schedule here.

Cocktails for the Cause

Our first fundraising effort will be a Cocktails for the Cause!

We are having it November 22 (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving) at our favorite bar, The Rusty Nail.

Donating is SUPER EASY:  Show up for happy hour, 4:30 – 7, and order drinks! For every drink the Nail sells during that happy hour, Girls Rock NOLA gets $1! You’re going to pre-game Thanksgiving anyway, so why not make it for a good cause?

First bit of news: GIRLS ROCK NOLA IS EXCITED TO BE SPONSORING HELL YES FEST! I’ve done a lot of stuff with Chris Trew, the creative genius behind Hell Yes Fest and The New Movement and it’s always been fun and successful. I hope you’ll come out to join us the weekend of November 9 – 12 for comedy and theater.

Second bit of news: I’m getting things going with a little bit of fundraising. Look soon for a Cocktails for the Cause in November hosted by the great people over at The Rusty Nail (1100 Constance St, NOLA). Easiest fundraising ever. You come in and buy drinks and every drink earns us a dollar! So buy a thousand drinks! Date/time for that soon.

Another fundraising event will be a Throwback Night at one of our favorite venues (who are always ardent supporters of all things Champ Superstar), Republic! It will be a Ladies of the 80s Throwback and we encourage you all to come out and dance to some great 80s hits, have a few drinks from Corey, and support our cause. Still waiting on the date for that one, too.
